Nevada County, CA — Oct. 13, 2026 — Ladris Ready Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) today announced that Sentinel, its free wildfire readiness app, is available to residents of Nevada County, California. Ladris is rolling out Sentinel in the region so that residents have direct access to the information they need to stay ahead of wildfire. Sentinel is available at no cost on the App Store and Google Play Store here: ladrisready.org.
Nevada County residents live with wildfire risk year-round. To help them stay prepared, Sentinel gives residents one place to answer the questions that matter most: Is a fire near me? Could it reach my home? Are my loved ones safe? The app requires no signup, login, or personal information.
Nevada County is home for co-founder Bowen and me. We know from our time here that wildfire evacuation is a constant concern for families, friends, and neighbors, and believe that everyone in our community should have access to any information that can help them prepare. It is our mission to get this information to communities everywhere.
Leo Zlimen — Ladris Ready PBCWhat Nevada County residents can do with Sentinel:
- See predicted fire spread: Sentinel provides hour-by-hour fire progression forecasts over 8 hours for active fires.
- Track active incidents: A map of active fires shows incidents near saved locations and across the United States.
- Monitor important locations: Unlimited saved locations allow residents to monitor their home, a child’s school, or relatives in another state, and to be notified when a new fire or evacuation starts nearby.
- Personalize push notification experience: Users can control the notifications they receive, from following an incident and receiving a push notification for every update, to silencing new fire notifications for a specific location.
Sentinel is built by Ladris Ready PBC, a public benefit corporation dedicated to advancing public knowledge and emergency preparedness. The app is part of the company’s effort to increase public access to the information that guides official decisions. Sentinel is intended to supplement, not replace, official emergency alerts and instructions from local authorities.
