Storey County, Nev. — Oct. 21, 2026 — Storey County, Nevada has adopted Open Evacuation Zones (OEZ), the free, open standard for evacuation zone management, in a new partnership with Ladris Technologies. This partnership marks Ladris’ expansion to the State of Nevada, reflecting the company’s continued growth and the importance of free and accessible zone management nationwide.

With OEZ, Storey County’s evacuation zones are described in a simple, open format that every connected system can read, including Esri ArcGIS Online and the county’s existing alerting platforms. When a zone changes, mid-incident or otherwise, the update carries through automatically to every tool downstream. Alongside OEZ, the county can also now utilize basic fire and evacuation modeling, giving responders early visibility into how a fire might spread or how long an evacuation might take.

Storey County faces wildfire exposure, and our residents deserve tools that keep pace with that risk. Adopting Ladris OEZ was an easy decision. It’s free, it works with the systems we already use, and it helps us get accurate evacuation information to residents faster.

Adam Wilson — Director of Emergency Management, Storey County

OEZ is built to integrate with any supported alert and warning system, so residents can receive zone status changes the moment they are published in OEZ. Storey County can also share zone data with neighboring jurisdictions, since OEZ zones are published in an open data format any system can read.

The belief that “no one should die in a disaster” has always been Ladris’ motivator. It’s this idea that shaped the decision to make OEZ free to any jurisdiction wanting to adopt it.
