To all of us at Ladris:

We have an epic adventure in front of us. In many ways the world is not ready for what we are building, and in some respects, unprepared even for what we have built to date. It is stunning - perplexing even - that the need is so obvious and yet existing systems are so poorly suited to proactively address these needs. Two hundred years of tradition, unimpeded by progress.

We should expect this! No problem worth solving was ever easy.

The first step in solving a challenge of this magnitude is bringing together a world-class team. This is exactly what we have done. Today Ladris has experts in wildfire, evacuation science, emergency management, first response, law enforcement, and former senior leadership from CALFIRE, all working together. We have the leading scientists, the very best domain experts, and a strong management team. And we have an exceptionally strong engineering team with high-caliber AI/ML and data expertise. All of us will work together each day to bring to life our vision of a complete, unified offering that massively reduces the risk that any individual or family will die in a disaster.

And - we are not alone! Like any other breakthrough at any point in our collective history, it will take many small efforts and many dedicated individuals working in concert, building on each other, to create great achievements. Today we along with many other companies, scientists and experts have created advanced technologies that we can leverage. The next generation of first responders and emergency managers are willing to take that bold step forward. We can send people to the moon, sequence the human genome, create self-driving cars, and eradicate infectious disease. We can also create a world where no one needs to fear dying in a disaster.

I am more confident than ever that the team we have at Ladris today is made up of those very people who will build this future and inspire our market to take that next step.

We work not because it is easy, but because it is hard, essential work that must be done. Not everyone will adopt our approach - not immediately - but those who do may yet be saved. For them, we press on.
